We had a bit of a spend at the weekend. We've bought a couple of Jet style open faced helmets which should be more comfortable for the warm weather in SA; some Kevlar reinforced denim jeans, some compression thermals (which are excellent); a cheap simple intercom and some decent motorcycling socks and bandana's. Oh and a massive bag to put it all in!
It's just a matter now of ensuring we have all the right paperwork, although that's a lot simpler in these days of e-ticketing. We had a late scare in that we thought we had full travel insurance. However when we inspected the small print it excluded riding a motorcycle over 125cc. Given we are going to be on 1200cc BMW GS's they are a tad over that limit. After a bit of research I found that Post Office travel provides not only comprehensive and extensive cover but it also included motorcycling provided that you wear crash helmets and protective clothing. So anyway that's sorted now.
We just need to prepare everything before finally packing it into the bag in time for the beginning of the holiday in two weeks time.
I just can't wait!
